Legendary Boxer and Philanthropist Sugar Ray Leonard will serve as a 2017 Co-Chair for the Ambassadors of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), a grassroots network of supporters and patient families who raise funds and awareness for the region’s top pediatric healthcare provider.
Through his foundation, Mr. Leonard has raised more than $230,000 to support CHLA’s Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism and essential programs like Teen Power for adolescents and families living with insulin dependent diabetes, and Kids N Fitness which helps overweight children and their families learn the daily practice of making healthy food and activity choices.
As Co-Chair for the Ambassadors program, Mr. Leonard will work alongside patient dad Carlos Garrido of Downey, CA to inspire the community to get involved and support children’s health. They launch this exciting effort at the Ambassadors Conference at CHLA on March 15th.
